Visit us

On this page we have gathered all the practical details you may need to come see us at our wonderful park. Something missing? Let us know!

We are looking forward to your visit!

In response to the provisions and security measures put in place to deal with the global health crisis, our park is closed to the public until further notice. However, our staff is working hard to feed and look after the more than 300 birds under our care. Please continue to follow our pages on social networks as we will share reports and news updates, especially about the baby season!

Honduras, we carry you on our wings, we are sure that we will all recover from this situation, but for now #StayAtHome please.

Copán es MÁS

Every year over 100,000 people make the journey to our friendly town to admire the great legacy of the Maya dynasty founded by King K´inich Yax K´uk´ Mo (“Great Sun, First Quetzal-Macaw”). Many of those visitors also find their way to our bird park, currently the #2 attraction in the Copán area, and spend time here in one of the safest towns of Honduras.

So “Copán es MÁS”, Copán is more: Mayas + Aves (birds) + Seguridad (security). But Macaws + Archaeology + Security works just as well in English. And in fact, there is even more: Copán is also museums, agritourism, wellness & spa, and adventure tours. Find out more on the website of the Copán Ruinas Tourism Chamber.

We need your help!

Our life mission is to protect and reproduce the Scarlet Macaw (Honduras' national bird) as well as several other species endemic to Central America and to have a positive impact on both the environment and society.

Primarily funded by proceeds from tourist visits to our park, this mission is now under serious threat from the ongoing global health crisis. In these extraordinary times, YOUR DONATION CAN MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE!!
